Far Beyond Forever 1

Far Beyond Forever 1

A proud second-generation Mexican-American from Orange County, CA, Kendal Villa is a performing artist, choreographer, and director who infuses her heritage into her movement style by blending athleticism and grace with her training in both tennis and dance. She has collaborated with filmmakers from UCI, USC, UCLA and Chapman University on music videos, dance films, and conceptual videos in front of as well as behind the camera. She has also interned at Offstage by GRV, where she trained under videography, liaison work, management, and finance branches.

She has taught workshops and classes at various dance studios and high schools across Orange County consisting of technique development, choreographing pieces, and unboxing stylistic individuality with improvisation. She makes it a priority to motivate her students in their training so that they can apply practical skills to their artistry and livelihood - this is an artform that can truly bring out the best version of oneself.

With 20 years of experience in tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, ballet, improvisation and lyrical, Kendal also practices heels, modern, and Ballet Folklórico. She has performed in pieces by MaryAnn Chavez, Vincent E. Thomas, KZGirl, Nicole “Fox” Davis, Dr. S Ama Wray, Cyrian Reed, and Chad Michael Hall. Kendal’s choreographic work includes stage performances, dance visuals, films, documentaries, intermedia installations, and music videos. Recent accomplishments include her song “Through to You (Don’t Feel It)” being signed as well as accumulating festival selections from The American Pavilion, 20th Cyprus International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Fest, Seattle International Film Festival, and HollyShorts Film Festival.

Kendal graduated from UC Irvine with a double major in Dance Performance and Choreography and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Building a life that incorporates all mediums of art, she strives to be in and create spaces that all artists can thrive.
